Cox Electric

Owner & Master Electrician

About Cox Electric

I'm Avery Cox, owner and master electrician. I started Cox Electric because I was tired of watching homeowners get slow callbacks, vague quotes, and work that felt like it was done by someone who stopped caring in 1997.

I've spent 10+ years in the trade, and I've seen what good work looks like—and what corners look like too. My approach is simple: show up when I say I will, explain what's happening in plain English, and leave the place cleaner than I found it. The military taught me that 'on time' and 'done right' aren't suggestions, and that habit stuck.

I work hands-on. I don't subcontract your job to a crew you never met. When you hire Cox Electric, you get me, my tools, and the occasional bad joke about how your old panel is basically a museum piece.

Based in Lafayette and serving the Denver metro area. Licensed, insured, and genuinely interested in getting your house wired the right way.

FAQ

Veteran-owned. Master electrician. Straight answers.

How much does an electrician cost?

Every job is different. We'll give you a clear, itemized quote after seeing the work—no hidden fees, no 'materials adjustment' surprises.

How fast can you respond?

For urgent issues, we aim for same-day response and put them at the front of the line. Non-urgent work is usually scheduled within a few days.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, for anything that requires it. Permits protect you and your insurance, and we handle the paperwork and inspections.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Lafayette and cover Erie, Boulder, Longmont, Broomfield, Westminster, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Denver, and the surrounding areas.

Do you do small jobs?

Absolutely. Changing an outlet, troubleshooting a flicker, adding a switch—small stuff is welcome.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Master Electrician, fully licensed and insured.
